The goal of the BMA is to introduce students to
the job opportunities available to them in the many
different maritime related industries from marine biologist,
fisherman, shipyards to boat designer, or maritime attorney or working on a Cruise Ship.
|
|
Ballard Maritime Academy students enroll in
college-preparatory classes, interdisciplinary marine science,
technical education and liberal arts courses at Ballard HS. Lecture,
laboratory experiences, and field trips are incorporated into each course.

Each class completes an adventure trip every year,
which could include sailing, kayaking, or a cruise aboard a charter vessel |
|
The students also have the opportunity to participate in an internship
project between their Junior & Senior years. The internship allows the
students to experience firsthand what a career in their chosen field is like.
|
|
Our teachers and the classes they teach are all centered around the Maritime industry.
Check out the awards our faculty has won. See the Educators awards page.
